Before it became a series watched by millions on Netflix, “Firefly Lane” was a 2008 novel by the American writer Kristin Hannah, following the friendship of Tully and Kate from the day they met as teenagers in the 1970s, through decades of love, ambition and loss.
Tully is a bold girl who dreams of fame; Kate is shy and searching for her place in the world. A small street brings them together, and their friendship becomes the one constant in lives that never stop changing. A novel about friendship as destiny, and the price we pay for those we love.
In 2021 Netflix released the series adapted from the novel, created by Maggie Friedman and starring Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke; it ran for two seasons. In December, Booktino publishes its Arabic translation, by Sarah Shiban.
